Body of clerk found in drain in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Body of a clerk of works department was found under mysterious condition from a drain near Jail Road on NH 49 in Keonjhar town on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Laxmidhar Majhi.

According to reports, locals noticed the body of Majhi in the drain and informed the Town Police Station.

Later, an ODRAF team and police recovered Majhi's body from the drain. Police have also seized Majhi's bike and jacket from the opposite side of the road.

Majhi was alone at his house as his family members have gone outside the State in vacation. The family members have been informed about the incident.

The body has been sent from post-mortem following which the exact reason behind the death will be ascertained, police sources said.

However, it is being said that Majhi might have slipped into the drain.
