BJP State Farmers wing chief joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: In a major jolt to BJP ahead of the by-poll for the Bijepur assembly segment, senior party leader and party State Farmers' Wing president Gourahari Mishra today joined BJD.

Mishra joined BJD at a public meeting held at Badagon in the presence of Chief Minister and BJD president Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Patnaik is on a two-day visit to Bijepur to campaign for party candidate Rita Sahu for the February 24 by-election.

Patnaik welcomed Mishra to the BJD fold and said his joining will strengthen the party organisation.

Mishra's joining in the ruling BJD came as a jolt for BJP at a time when the saffron party is trying hard to garb the Bijepur assembly seat.
