Odisha cabinet approves rural water projects worth over Rs 911 Cr

Bhubaneswar: Odisha cabinet on Wednesday decided to execute two rural water supply projects at an estimated cost of Rs 360 crore to provide fluoride free safe drinking water in five blocks of the Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur district.

The projects will be implemented by the the M/S Larsen & Toubro Ltd Chenai, selected through an open bidding process in the water quality affected areas of Narasinghapur and Badamba Block of Cuttack district and Balikuda, Naugaun and Erasama blocks of Jagatsinghpur district where the saline content is more than the admissible limit.

The cost of the projects would be met out of funds of the SFC grant and state plan funds (BASUDHA) to provide safe drinking water to the people.

While Rs 88.04 crore would be provided out of SFC grant a sum of Rs 272. -UNI
