3-day Senior Police Officers' Conference launched in city

Bhubaneswar: The 60th Senior Police Officers' Conference of Odisha was inaugurated at the Police Bhawan here on Tuesday by Director General of Police (DGP) Dr RP Sharma.

The Superintendents of Police of all districts, DCPs, Commandants of all armed police battalions, IGPs, DIGPs, under-training IPS officers, senior officers of various police establishments as well as the Home Guards, Fire Services and Civil Defence Organisation, State Vigilance, Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation, Prison Organisation and OHRC are scheduled to participate in the three-day conference.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to grace the valedictory session on March 15, according an official release issued eralier.

Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, ACS Home Department and Finance Department Principal Secretary will interact with the participants on various law and order aspects during the conference.

Discussions will be held on crime scenario of the State, Left Wing Extremism, capacity building of police stations, people-friendly policing, ethical behaviour in policing, crime control measures, critical incident management, effective use of social media and resource management in Special Armed Police. Issues relating to the State Vigilance, Home Guards and Fire Services, Prisons Organisation and Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation would also be discussed, informed the release.
