Brown sugar, ganja of Rs 58L seized, 2 held in Cuttack

Cuttack: The flying squad of the Excise Department recovered huge quantities of brown sugar and ganja, together valued at over Rs 58 lakh, from Machhua Bazaar area in Cuttack city following a raid early this morning.

The squad seized brown sugar worth Rs 8 lakh and ganja worth over Rs 50 lakh and arrested two persons for carrying the contraband items illegally, according to reports.

The arrested are being interrogated and would be forwarded to court later in the day, said reports
