Satya Pal Malik takes oath as Odisha Governor

Bhubaneswar: Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik took oath as Odisha Governor as additional charge at the Raj Bhavan today. Orissa High Court Chief Justice Vineet Saran administered the oath to Malik at a function at Raj Bhavan.

Prominent among those who attended the ceremony were Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Assembly Narasingha Mishra and a host of Ministers.

The post of Odisha Governor fell vacant on Tuesday after the completion of the tenure of Dr SC Jamir.

Malik arrived in Bhubaneswar today afternoon to take additional charge as Odisha Governor. He was welcomed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, DGP Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Bhubaneswar Mayor Anata Narayan Jena and others at the airport.

Malik would be in charge of Odisha until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Odisha is made.
