Change In Integrated MBA Entrance Dates At Utkal Varsity Sparks Protests

Bhubaneswar: Tension ran high inside the Utkal University campus in Bhubaneswar today when around 35 Integrated MBA aspirants along with their guardians staged a protest before the business administration department against the conduct of unscheduled entrance examination for the course a day ahead of the dates of exam mentioned in some admit cards.

According to sources, a total of 312 students had applied for the five year Integrated MBA course at the varsity and the entrance examination was scheduled to be held today. Even few of them had downloaded the admit card with the date mentioned May 15, 2018.

However, these students, after reaching the university to appear the exam today, found that the entrance was already conducted a day before. They alleged that the department conducted the entrance test yesterday on May 14 without informing them and a few of total applicants only appeared the test yesterday.

'We think there is some scam going on in the admission procedure. Although the university authorities took our admit cards and assured us that necessary steps will be taken, we doubt whether that will be done in a fair manner,' said Ashok Mahapatra, a parent.
