March 2020 Deadline For Bolangir LPG Bottling Plant: Pradhan

Bolangir: Taking a step towards fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Purvodaya' (A prosperous East for a New India), Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday laid the foundation stone of LPG bottling plant in Bolangir.

The proposed project which is being established in over 23 acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 103 crores will be completed by March 2020, said Pradhan after laying the foundation stone at a function held at Koshala Kalamandala Ground here.
This is BPCL's second bottling unit that will come up in Odisha after the first one in Khurda. The company has plans to set up two more bottling plants in Rayagada and one in Bhubaneswar in subsequent phases.
'In the entire Western Odisha, Bolangir is the most vibrant point and it needs to be developed. The proposed bottling plant has a capacity for refilling 42 lakh cyclinders which will benefit people of 14 districts,' said Pradhan.
The Union Minister also highlighted the achievements of his department and criticised the previous UPA-led government at Centre for failing on all fronts.
'When Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office, only 40,000 LPG connections were provided to people in Bolangir which has now reached over 2.31 lakh. Over 1.91 new connections have been added,' Pradhan added.
