Bijoy Babu's statement on Ratna Bhandar key row unfortunate: Biswabhusan

Bhubaneswar: A day after senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra left his party red faced when he said his party did not do anything to upkeep the Jagannnath Temple, Puri in an apparent reference to senior party leader Biswabhusan Harichandan who served as a Law Minister during the coalition Government, the later today said the former's statement without knowledge of the matter is unfortunate.
The former Law Minister said some people along with the State Government seem to be worried over BJP's ongoing agitation over the missing keys of the Jagannath Temple's Treasury also known as Ratna Bhandar.
On Wednesday, Mohapatra said the BJP was a part of the coalition Government from 2000 to 2009 and said that the saffron party leaders should say whether the keys of the Ratna Bhandar were available or not at that time.
He further said that the party should also make clear what reform measures were undertaken for the temple during that period.
Biswabhusan Harichandan was the Law Minister in the Naveen Patnaik Government during the coalition period. The temple management comes under administrative jurisdiction of the Law Department.
BJP is critical of the State Government's handling of the missing key row.
