Army Jawan booked for rape marries survivor

Kandhamal: An army Jawan who was booked for allegedly raping a lady home guard four days ago in the district, today married the survivor in presence of police and family members of both the families.
The marriage was held at a temple near G Udaygiri with the consent of both the families. It will be registered in court later, sources said.
The jawan identified as Tulu Pradhan, a resident of Peena Gaberi under Tikabali police limits is a jawan of Bihar regiment. He was on leave for last few days.
The woman Home Guard was staying in a house on rent at Telisahi of G Udayagiri town. Tulu allegedly raped her while she was alone on Friday night.
She had lodged a complaint against him with police following which a case was also registered.
Tulu, on the other hand, had denied the rape allegation levelled against him. He said he was into a relationship with the Home Guard during the past two years. He also wants her to marry. However, she refused his proposal and has now brought such allegation against him.
