Bhubaneswar: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today informed that former Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda's resignation from the Lower House was accepted on July 18.Mahajan informed this to the members in the House today during the ongoing Monsoon Session of the Parliament.
After quitting the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda on June 12 had tendered his resignation as the Member of Parliament (MP) in the Lok Sabha.
Panda had sent a letter about his resignation to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
While quitting the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on May 28, Panda in a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had said that he would convey his decision to quit the membership of Lok Sabha to Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
