Man beaten to death in Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: A 40-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death at Hirma village near Mundapada under Badamala police limits in Jharsuguda district last night. The deceased was identified as Bijaya Bhoi.
According to sources, the Badamala police have detained two persons identified as Ajaya and Kumar for interrogation in connection with the case.The incident occurred when Ajaya and Kumar waylaid Bijaya when he was heading towards Mundapada last night and was attacked by the duo with sticks. After he fell unconscious, the duo took him to a nearby village pond and killed him by drowning in water, sources added.
As per preliminary investigation, the police suspect that the murder might be fallout of the past enmity.
Earlier, Bijaya was arrested and was imprisoned in jail being convicted in a murder case. He was released from the jail few days ago.
