No students' union polls this year: Higher Edu Minister

Bhubaneswar: Clearing air over rumours regarding conduct of the students' union elections in colleges and universities across Odisha, the Higher Education department on Saturday made it crystal clear that there will be no students' polls this year.Higher Education Minister Ananta Das appealed to the students not to get influenced by misleading news being spread on social media and concentrate on studies.The Higher Education department had cancelled the students' union election for academic year 2018-19 following prediction of severe impact of cyclonic storm Titli in several districts of the state.As false information are being spread on various social media platforms regarding conduct of students' union polls, the  Higher Education department has come up with the clarification.
