Two dead, 2 hurt in head-on collision of trucks in Balasore

Balasore: In a tragic incident, two persons were killed and two others sustained critical injuries in a head-on collision of two trucks near Chapulia Chhak on National Highway-16 in Balasore district.The incident occurred in the wee hours today when the heavy vehicles coming from opposite sides collided head-on. The collision was so intense that the vehicles were completely damaged.According to reports, one truck driver died on the spot, while the other critically injured were rushed to Soro Community Health Centre.
Sources said, among the injured one identified as Ratikant Das, driver of the other truck, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.While one of the injured helper was being treated at the Soro CHC, another one critically injured was referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his heath condition worsened, said a source.
On getting information, police reached the accident spot and seized the ill-fated vehicles.
