Two Russian Tourists Detained For Flying Drone Over Konark Sun Temple

Konark: Despite strict rules imposed by the Odisha Police, two Russian tourists were caught flying a drone over the Sun Temple in Konark on Tuesday.According to sources, the Russian nationals, who visited the 13th Century structure, came into the notice of ASI officials while flying the drone over the Sun temple without permission.Reportedly, the officials of Archeological Survey of India have detained the duo for further questioning. A probe into the incident is also underway, sources said.It is pertinent to mention here that the Odisha Police has enforced the new rules on flying drones introduced by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on December 1.

As per the rules, the users will have to take permission from the local police station in order to fly Nano Drones. The users are also required to submit a written statement assuring that the drone will not invade the privacy of any person. Flying drones without the police permission will be considered illegal and action will be taken against the owner of the drone.
