30-feet-long dead whale washes ashore in Bhitarkanika

Kendrapara: Carcass of a 30-feet-long whale was found along the Baitarani River mouth near Ahirajpur village under Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara district today.

As per sources, locals of Ahirajpur village spotted the dead whale on the river mouth with foul smell emanating from it.The forest officials recovered the dead marine species on getting information from the local people.While the exact reason behind its death is yet to be ascertained, the carcass of the whale has been sent for an autopsy.
