KALIA Scheme at PEETHA Camp from Jan 15 to 20

Bhubaneswar: The coming PEETHA Camp at Gram Panchayat-level in the State will be organised from January 15 to 20 focusing on the KALIA Scheme.

All components under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation Scheme for the beneficiaries at GP-level will be discussed during the PEETHA Camp.

The State Government has approved KALIA Scheme to further accelerate agricultural prosperity and reduce poverty in Odisha. It covers 92 percent of the cultivators, loanee as well as non-loanee farmers, sharecroppers (actual cultivators) and landless agricultural labourers. In order to achieve the objective of the scheme, wide-scale publicity through PEETHA Camps is planned. It is pertinent to mention here that the Odisha Government has launched PEETHA (People's Empowerment-Enabling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiatives) programme as part of the 3-T initiative (Technology, Transparency, and Teamwork).Under this programme, it has been decided to organise special camps at Gram Panchayat level across the State from 15th to 20th of every month.

The IEC programme on KALIA Scheme at PEETHA Camp will have a standard programme as per schedule decided by the State Government for effective dissemination of the information.The designated GP Nodal Officer (GPNO) will be the main coordinator of the event. He/she shall coordinate with the Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) and other functionaries of PEETHA Camp of the GP for a successful IEC programme with videos and information, education and communication (IEC) materials.
