Naveen announces pay hike, other sops for anganwadi workers, helpers

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced a major hike in the honorarium of anganwadi workers and helpers working under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS).
The CM made the announcement after the decision to increase the salaries of anganwadi workers and helpers was taken in a high-level meeting at the secretariat.According to the announcement, the salary of anganwadi workers has been increased to Rs 7500 from existing Rs 6000. Similarly, the mini anganwadi workers will now get a monthly salary of Rs 5375 from existing Rs 4125.Moreover, the salary of helpers has been enhanced to Rs 3,750 from existing Rs 3,000. The revised salary will be effective retrospectively from October 1, 2018.Keeping the welfare of the Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi Helpers in view, the state government also announced a few more sops for them.
