Not just the critics but the audience as well is in love with Vicky Kaushal's josh in the film. While the film opened with decent numbers, good word of mouth and brilliant promotions helped it touch the sky. It won't be wrong to say that the numbers will continue to pour in for another week.

Interestingly, Uri has turned out to be Vicky's biggest opener ever as a lead actor. Till now, he has worked in films like Manmarziyaan, Raazi and Raman Raghav 2.0. Though his film Sanju garnered Rs. 34.75 crore on its opening day, it starred Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The film is facing the box-office battle with The Accidental Prime Minister starring Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles.
Uri is an action thriller film based on true incidents which along with Vicky also stars Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri is based on the 2016 surgical strike by Indian Army on Pakistan Administered Kashmir which was a retaliation for the Uri Attacks of September 2016
