Man killed, son critical as stone collapses in Nabarangpur quarry

Nabarangpur: A man was killed while his son sustained injuries after a portion of a quarry in a forest in Raighar block of Nabarangpur district collapsed and buried them underneath today.

The deceased has been identified as Bhimasena Majhi and his injured son identified as Khageswar. According to sources, the incident occurred at around 11 am today while the father-son duo was busy in blasting the stone quarry. Suddenly, a huge piece of stone collapsed on them killing Bhimasena on the spot and injuring his son.Khageswar was rushed to Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors stated his health condition to be critical.On being informed police reached the spot and seized the body for post mortem. Cops have registered a case of 'unnatural death' regarding the incident, sources said.
