PM Modi appeals to Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Aamir Khan and other Bollywood celebrities to encourage fans to vote

Ahead of General Elections 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal and others to urge their fans to turn up at the voting booths and vote for their desired candidate. PM Modi, who is pretty social media savvy, has tagged almost every Bollywood celebrity while urging them to spread awareness about elections among their fans.

He wrote, "My young friends @RanveerOfficial, @Varun-dvn & @vickykaushal09, Many youngsters admire you. It is time to tell them: Apna Time Aa Gaya Hai and that it is time to turn up with high Josh to a voting centre near you," while making a Gully Boy and Uri: The Surgical Strike reference.PM Narendra Modi also wrote a tweet addressed to Bollywood biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Amitabh Bachchan asking them for the same. He wrote, "Urging @SrBachchan, @iamsrk and @karanjohar to creatively ensure high voter awareness and participation in the coming elections. Because..its all about loving your democracy (and strengthening it). :)"

With each and every tweet, Narendra Modi made several pop culture references to their blockbuster films like Andaz Apna Apna, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Gully Boy and many more.Karan Johar took to his Twitter and wrote, "We as a fraternity are dedicated to the cause of creating high voter awareness and will make sure every endeavour is made to communicate the power of voting for a solid and Democratic India! Jai Hind!"Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar also agreed to PM Modi's appeal and pledged to engage as many citizens to General Elections 2019.
