Maoist posters surface in Rayagada

Rayagada: Maoist posters, urging the local residents to protect Niyamgiri forest, were found put up at some places in Parsali panchayat under Kalyansingpur Tehsil in Rayagada district today.
According to sources, the posters were spotted near an Anganwadi centre, a godown, a tree and on the main road of the panchayat.The left-wing extremist outfit has called upon the people to save Niyamgiri and stand against the violence and harassment against the tribals.

The rebels also urged the locals to oppose the Supreme Court's decision to evict the tribals and other traditional forest dwellers whose land claims were rejected.The posters have been reportedly issued by the Nagabali Ghusura and Baguna division area committee.
