New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cast his vote at a polling booth in Ranip in Ahmedabad in Gujarat on Tuesday saying voter ID is more powerful than IED.Modi arrived to cast his vote at polling booth at Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ranip in Ahmedabad. The BJP President Amit Shah was also present at the booth.
Voting for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 is underway on Tuesday across 117 Lok Sabha seats spread over 13 states and 2 Union Territories in the country.Reports said people in 13 states and two Union Territories have started queuing up to exercise their franchise.Voting is also underway in Tripura East, which was scheduled to take place in Phase 2 of polling on April 18. The Election Commission had deferred it to the third phase due to security concerns.
This is the biggest phase as it covers 117 Lok Sabha seats in a single phase of seven-phased Lok Sabha election 2019.Over 18 crore 85 lakh voters will seal the fate of 1,640 candidates. According to reports, over 2.10 lakh polling booths have been created for smooth conduct of polls.
