Man dies after being crushed with wild jambo in Dhenkanal village

Dhenkanal: A 45-year-old man was killed by a wild elephant in Kadumada village, which falls under the Hindol forest range in Dhenkanal district.The deceased has been identified as Praful Naik, resident of Kadumura village under Kushinia Gram Panchayat.

Naik went to the nearby Bega Canal with three friends at around 2.30 pm. Meanwhile, a wild jambo entered the ghat to drink water.Looking at Pachmarram, others managed to escape from the spot, but Naik failed to do so. Then the jumbo lifted him from his trunk and threw it on the ground before crushing it.

Later, locals and family members saved Naik in a very serious condition and took them to Dhenkalal District Headquarter Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
