Silver demand jumped by Rs 660 to Rs 40,190 per kg on Wednesday on increased demand from industrial units and coin makers. According to All India Sarafa Sandha, gold prices fell by Rs 70 to Rs 35,500 per ten grams due to sluggish demand.Traders said weakness of jewelery traded between the weak global trend amid a weak global trend. Gold fell to $ 1,402.80 an ounce in New York, while silver rose further to $ 15.65 an ounce.
Gold in 99.9 percent and 99.5 percent purity of gold in Delhi Sarfra Bazar fell by Rs 70-70 to Rs 35,500 and Rs 35,330 per ten gram respectively. Guinea, eight grams, remained steady at Rs 27,400 per unit.
Silver coins, however, recovered by Rs 660 to Rs 40,190 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 687 to Rs 39,397 per kilogram. Silver coins and sterilization remained steady at Rs 81,000 and Rs 82,000 per hundred respectively.
