Mahanadi Water To Recede Soon, Says Water Resources Secretary

Bhubaneswar : The state will not witness heavy rains in the next five days. Light to medium rains are likely to occur in some parts of the State in the next 24 hours, meteorological department officials  said today.
So it would not impact floods in the state. 

There may not be heavy rains in anywhere in the State in the next five days. So the possibility of floods has lessened, said Water Resources Secretary Pradeep Jena in a Press meet today. 

He ruled out the possibility of further floods in coming days. 10 sluice gates of Hirakud Dam have already been closed. 
Observing the situation, more gates will be closed. There is no chance of high flood in Mahanadi, he clarified.
