Senior Bureaucrat Gagan Dhal Opts For VRS

Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Gagan Dhal reportedly has applied for VRS(voluntary retirement scheme)  from service. His service period ends on January, 2020. But he does not want to continue in service. The development assumes significance as yesterday government effected a major reshuffle in IAS cadre. 

Yesterday government has appointed 1986 batch IAS officer Asit Kumar Tripathy  as Chief Secretary of the state.
The exact cause of his application for VRS is yet to be known. 

Gagan Dhal is 1985 batch IAS officer. He is currently serving as the Agriculture Production Commissioner. In the recent resuffle made yesterday, Pradipta Mohapatra has been assigned the post of Agriculture Production Commissioner.

The present Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi has been appointed as the state Election Commissioner after getting VRS.There is speculation that Mr Dhal might get a new assignment of a constitutional post.
