Former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra Passes Away

Patna : Former Bihar Chief Mininister and Bharatiya Jana Congress leader Jagannath Mishra has passed away after suffering in a prolonged illness. Mishra passed away in Delhi at the age of 82.

Jagannath Mishra was a three-time chief minister. With the advent of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav in the Bihar political scene, he slowly faded away from political sphere. Mishra was the tallest political leader of Bihar for a long time. He was an union minister during Congress reign. Once upon a time he was at the helm of affairs in National Congress politics.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed grief on the death of Mishra. The government has declared a three-day state mourning in Bihar. Cremation will be held  with state honours.
