Odisha To Implement One Nation One Ration Card

Bhubaneswar: Odisha will implement the One Nation One Ration Card of Centre from September 1. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain has informed. The people belonging to BPL category will be benefited by the move. 

According to Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain, the initiative will be implemented under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) first on pilot basis from September 1. 

Later it will be implemented throughout the state. The benefit of the implementation is that the beneficiaries can take the ration items from any PDS (Public Distribution System) centre of the country. It will cover National Food Security Act and State Food Security Scheme. 

The minister said,'ration card holders will now be able to get their subsidized items from any PDS centre across the country like withdrawal of cash from ATMs from all locations'.
