Intelligence-led Policing New CP's Top Priority

Bhubaneswar: IPS officer Sudhanshu Sarangi  assumed office as the Police Commissioner of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack today.

The 1990-batch IPS officer took charge from outgoing Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty.He has been posted as Additional DGP (Prisons) and Director Correctional Services (DCS).  

After taking the charge, Sarangi said that priority will be to curb crime in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.Besides, He said, Police will use advance technology in policing. Police will try to deliver better services in the coming days.

'Intelligence-led policing will be strengthened in twin city', he said. 

“The PCR Van personnel should identify the anti socials and criminals while moving round.They will be more alert by keeping vigil on the movement of antisocial elements. Intelligence-led policing will help to minimise crime rate.” he said.

Sarangi emphasised on to curb cyber crime. In his opinion, every crime has a cyber aspect. He has done his PhD in psychology.
