Chief Engineer In Vigilance Net

Bhubaneswar: Chief Engineer of Vyasanagar Municipality in Jajpur district was arrested by Vigilance personnel for taking bribe from a contractor.

According to vigilance sources, Chief Engineer Prahllad Mohapatra had demanded Rs 38,000 from a contractor to pass a bill. The contractor informed vigilance department. The Chief Enginer was caught red-handed by vigilance personnel  while taking the bribe money. 

 
In another incident, the vigilance sleuths have conducted raids on the residence of Tikam Singh Naik of Chandahandi block of Nabarangpur district. It is alleged that he has amassed property disproportionate to his income.
Naik is accused of possessing disproportionate assets when he was  the Chairman of Large Area Multi-Purpose Societies (LAMPS).Vigilance raid is going on to ascertain his properties.
