Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: The tropical cyclonic storm Hudhud is likely to take shape within the next 12 hours and head for the north Andhra coast, the IMD centre at Odisha's capital city said today.The system has moved closer to the coast and now lies 1170 kms southeast of Gopalpur.
'The Deep Depression over North Andaman Sea & neighbourhood moved west-northwestward and lay centered at 0530 hrs IST of 8th October 2014 over North Andaman Sea & adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal near latitude12.2ºN and longitude 93.0ºE about 1170 KM Southeast of Gopalpur.
It would intensify into a cyclonic storm during next 12 hours. It would cross Andaman & Nicobar Islands close to Long Island within a few hours. Thereafter, the system would continue to move west-northwestwards towards north Andhra Pradesh,' the buletin said
Rain/Thundershower would occur at one or two places over Odisha during next 24 hours.
The bulletin advised the Distant Cautionary signal Number One (DC-I) to be kept hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur Ports in Odisha.
