CM reviews state's preparedness for cyclonic storm Hudhud, Mock drill will be done

Bhubaneswar, Oct 9:  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reviews contingency plans of different departments for the state's preparedness for the cyclonic storm . CM Patnaik said that If need arises, people will be evacuated.

All preparations are in place to meet any eventuality arising out of the possible cyclonic storm hitting the state's coast. Mock drill will be done at cyclone shelters tomorrow said CM Patnaik after review meeting. 

And today, the state government set a "zero casualty" target, making preparation on par with that made to deal with Cyclone Phailin last year.

'I reviewed the possible cyclonic storm situation with all the concerned departments. All preparations have been made to meet the situation. All departments have been asked to prepare contigency plan to meet the situation,' said Patnaik.  

CM directed the district authorities to open round-the-clock control room to coordinate with different departments. The government has directed all concerned departments to make all preparations to face the consequent flood in Bansadhara, Nagabali and Rusikulya rivers of the state.

Among others, Revenue and Disaster Management minister Bijayshree Routray, chief secretary GC Pati, development commissioner, additional chief secretaries, Revenue and Finance, and principal secretaries , NDRF officials, IMD officials and secretaries of the concerned departments were present at the meeting.
