Burdwan Blast: NIA seizes Explosives from Militant Hideout

Burdwan, Oct 17: The National Investigation Agency that is probing Burdwan blast that killed two suspected terrorists in West Bengal seized a large number of crude hand grenades, socket bombs and explosives on Friday from a house where the suspected militant Rejaul Karim was staying.

The central investigators found at least 30 hand grenades, what the West Bengal police missed during search eight days ago, in the toilet of a house near the site. The explosives were in a secret loft constructed after cutting the wall of a bathroom. The bombs were defused by the security officials.

The house is located at Mathpara on Badsahi Road near Khagragarh where the explosion killed two suspected Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen militants and injured another on 2 October. The state police arrested several people including two women in connection with the blast.
