BJD candidate Pratyusha Rajeswari wins Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat

Kandhamal, Oct 19: The Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat went to BJD pocket in Odisha with the victory of BJD candidate Pratyusha Rajeswari Singh in the by-election. She defeated the BJP candidate Rudra Madhab Ray by the margin of over 2 Lakh 98 thousand votes. She was leading in 2,98,868 votes in first round.

As per the latest trend, Pratyusha got 477529 votes, Rudra Madhab gpt 178661 votes, and Abhimanyu Behera (Congress) got 90536 votes.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik could be seen as the gamechanger at the last moment during the campaign. Pratyusha is the widow of late BJD MP Hemendra Chandra Singh.
