Manohar Lal Khattar appointed as new CM of Haryana

Chandigarh, Oct 21: Former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) member Manohar Lal Khattar was finally appointed as the new chief minister of Haryana on Tuesday. He is the first non-Jat CM of the state in 18 years.

Following his appointment Khattar made it clear that his government will be transparent and no discrimination with any one. He assured that the new government under his leadership will work for the welfare of the people of Haryana.

"My government will be transparent and there will be no discrimination with any area," Khattar told media persons.

The swearing-in ceremony of the new CM along with other ministers is likely to take place on Oct 18.

The 60-year-old Khattar, is a new face in electoral politics in Haryana. He contested from Karnal Assembly seat from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched his poll campaign in the state. The first-time MLA Khattar is stated to be close to Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.
