Modi to spend Diwali with Srinagar Flood Victims

New Delhi, Oct 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will celebrate Diwali with the flood-affected people of Srinagar where normalcy has been back due to the deliberate efforts of Indian army, the residents and the Centre.
"Will be in Srinagar on Diwali 23rd October and will spend the day with our sisters and brothers affected by the unfortunate floods", Modi said on Twitter.

More than 1.5 million people were affected by the floods in Jammu and Kashmir. Over 280 people were killed and the flood brought widespread damage to public and private properties. That was the worst disaster the state witnessed in 50 years.

The celebration of Modi with Srinagar people could be seen as part of election strategy to take them into his confidence that the saffron party is always there with the Kashmiries.
