Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: BJP Odisha in-charge Arun Singh drew the attention of the state media on Tuesday at a press meet with a statement that many senior leaders of both BJD and Congress are keen to join BJP in the state. However, he refused to disclose the names of the rival party leaders, who are willing to join the party.
"Many prominent leaders of the BJD and the Congress are very much interested to join the BJP. You cannot imagine that so many influential leaders of both the parties are interested to join the BJP. They feel suffocated in their respective parties," said Singh, adding that they would join the saffron party very soon.
Assumptions and analysis began after such statement came from the senior BJP leader raising the questions who are the leaders want to join the saffron party in Odisha where chief minister Naveen Patnaik is still influencing the voters.
Reacting the statement, BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb stated stated that Singh should have disclosed the names of those who are keen to join the BJP, instead of creating needless confusion. He also remarked that some senior leaders in BJP too are interested to join BJD.
Similarly, PCC chief Jaydev Jena said that the BJP leaders should have disclosed the names instead of making baseless comments.
