Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Keeping the public demand and increased number of air passengers in mind, the GoAir, a low-fare airline, has launched its daily flights from the Biju Patnaik airport to different destinations on Sunday.
The GoAir maiden flight from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi took off at 8.45 am while its second flight for New Delhi departed from here at 7.25 pm to reach its destination at 9.50 pm. Another flight left for Mumbai at 11 am from here, one more flight of the airline departed for Kolkata at 6.30 pm on Sunday.
Bhubaneswar Airport Director Sharad Kumar, who inaugurated the operation from BBSR, said that with the launch of the GoAir’s operations, the domestic flight operations at the Bhubaneswar Airport have increased to 40 daily flights.
Currently, Indigo is operating 22 flights and Air India and Alliance Air combined are operating 10 flights to different destinations like Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. GoAir will operate 8 flights to important cities.
