Ashok Sahu urges Odisha BJP to revoke Suspension

News

Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Senior BJP leader Ashok Sahu, who was recently suspended for anti-party activities, has urged the state leadership to revoke the suspension order on him.

In a reply to the showcause notice issued by the Odisha BJP asking him to explain why action should not be taken against him, Sahu said that his tweet on the social media could not be termed as anti-party activities. "My remark in social media has no implication that can be termed as anti-party activities", he said.

He also termed the suspension order as a hasty decision by the state leadership without giving him any chance for the clarification on the issue.

He said that the derogatory remarks he had made against the party leaders after suspension were to to defend himself. "After the strong remarks of Manmohan Samal, Samir Dey and Jaynarayan Mishra over my suspension, I made all the allegations only to defend myself," he said.

The leader was suspended from the party on the charge of indiscipline in the party. He had blamed the state leadership for the party's failure in Kandhamal Lok Sabha by-poll asking them why the Modi wave was not working in Odisha whereas the results were in favour of BJP in Maharashtra and Haryana assembly polls.
