Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: Noted writer Manoj Das has reportedly donated a literary honorarium of Rs 10 lakh that he had received from the Seashore Group, to the Odisha chief minister relief fund.
Jnanapeeth award winning Das was the adviser of two monthly Odia magazines - "Sahitya Patrika" and "Kishora Patrika" - brought out by the Seashore Group, which is under CBI net for the multi-crore chit fund scam in the state.
Das was contributing articles and in charge of the contents for the two magazines. He was also being paid Rs 1 lakh per month as honorarium.
Das is an Indian award-winning bilingual creative writer who writes in Odia and English on whom Kendra Sahitya Akademi has bestowed its highest award "Sahitya Akademi Award" Fellowship. He was awarded Padma Shri in 2001 for his contribution in the field of Literature and Education. He had also received Saraswati Samman in 2000.
