Devendra Fadnavis appointed as CM of Maharashtra

Mumbai, Oct 28: Shunning all the speculations, the state legislators of Maharashtra today elected Devendra Fadnavis as their leader in Mumbai. The 44-year-old three-term MLA was ahead in the CM race, however, speculations were also there to name Nitin Gadkari for the CM of the state.

Devendra, the legislator from Nagpur, will be the first Maharashtra chief minister from BJP. He will soon meet the governor to stake claim to form government in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at a grand ceremony at famous Wankhede Stadium on Friday in Mumbai.
