CBI seeks 14-Day Remand of Pravat Tripathy

Bhubaneswar, Nov 01: The CBI will move to special CJM court seeking 14-day remand of Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy, who was arrested on Friday evening on charges of his alleged link with chit fund firm AT group CMD Pradip Sethy.

The legislator, who was sacked from his party BJD following his arrest in connection with chit fund scam, went through medical check up this morning. Doctors from the capital hospital came to the CBI office to examine his health.

Tripathy will be produced before the court today. His counsel said that he would fight against the CBI plea in the court and would pray to the court to provide necessary and proper treatment to the MLA.

The four-time MLA on BJD ticket and former government chief whip was arrested on Friday on charges of criminal conspiracy and having received huge sum of money from AT group.
