Bhubaneswar, Nov 04: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik would meet Union finance minister Arun Jaitley and demand central assistance towards the recent severe cyclone Hudhud during his six day visit to New Delhi.
"I shall be going to Delhi tomorrow and meet Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley regarding funds for the damage caused by cyclone Hudhud. I will also draw Jaitley's attention towards the clearance of the assistance announced for the state hit by cyclone Phailin last year", Patnaik told reporters here on Monday.
Patnaik would leave for the national capital today and he will return on November 9. Earlier, the CM had written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking Rs 500 crore interim assistance relief and rehabilitation package for the state after the cyclone Hudhud battered the southern Odisha last month.
The Collectors of the five Hudhud-hit districts and head of different departments have submitted their reports to the special relief commissioner on the damages due to the cyclone.
