BJD MP Hansda, Ex-MLA Subarna Nayak suspended from party

Bhubaneswar, Nov 05: The ruling BJD suspended its Mayurbhanj MP Ramachandra Hansda and ex-MLA Subarna Nayak from the party after the CBI arrested them in connection with Nabadiganta chit fund scam.

Both the leaders were suspended by BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, prior to leave for a six-day tour to Delhi. Earlier, Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy was also suspended from the party after his arrest in connection with AT chit fund scam.

The BJD clearly said that these tainted leaders will not be provided any protection in connection with the scam.

The CBI on Tuesday had arrested three political leaders BJD MP Ramchandra Hansda, former BJP MLA Hitesh Bagarti and ex-BJD MLA Subarna Nayak in connection with Nabadiganta Chit fund scam following interrogation. The trio will be produced before a court today.
