Manmohan Singh receives Top National Award of Japan

Tokyo, Nov 05: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh received "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Paulownia Flowers", one of Japan's highest awards from Japanese Emperor Akihito, as part of a bi-annual decoration ceremony.

Dr. Singh was awarded for his significant contribution to the enhancement of relations and promotion of friendship between Japan and India for about 35 years.

Although, his party Congress bite the dust in the recent general elections, Dr Singh will always be lauded for his achievements and contribution to Indian politics despite criticism.
