CBI granted 6-Day Remand of 3 Politicians

Bhubaneswar, Nov 05: The CBI on Wednesday was granted a six-day remand of Mayurbhanj MP Ramchandra Hansda and two ex-MLAs, Hitesh Bagarti and Subarna Nayak for further interrogation in connection with Nabadiganta chit fund scam.

The CBI had produced the three politicians before the special CJM (CBI) court here today seeking 10-day remand.

However, the central agency was allowed to take them for 6 days on remand for interrogation. The trio were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the ponzi case on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating and diversion of funds.

While being taken to the court for appearance, Hansda said that his arrest is a part of bigger political conspiracy against BJD government and the CBI wants to gain popularity by arresting the politicians.
