Naveen meets Jaitley, demands Rs500 cr Aid for Hudhud-hit Areas

New Delhi, Nov 05: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday met Union finance minister Arun Jaitley in the national capital. He demanded Rs 500 crore central assistance towards for the damages due to cyclone Hudhud.

Patnaik also placed his demand for immediate release of the Rs 399.88 crore of arrears dues of Central assistance on account of last year's Cyclone Phailin that battered the state.

At the meeting, he urged Jaitley for extending rural banking services to 4,597 villages in the state demanding to include Naxal affected areas under the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana.
