Two RSS Leaders in CM Race for Goa?

New Delhi/ Panaji, Nov 06: Two RSS leaders are in race for the chief minister post of Goa if the speculations would be believed that the current CM Manohar Parrikar would be elevated as the Union Minister after the proposed cabinet reshuffle in Modi's government.

The two RSS leaders - health minister Laxmikant Parsekar and Speaker Rajendra Arlekar - are being considered for the top post, sources said.

BJP's Goa unit is likely to meet on Thursday to finalise a name for the CM post.  The report came after the speculations hit the headlines that Parrikar could get the defence portfolio in a Union Cabinet reshuffle.

Parrikar on Wednesday had held a meeting with BJP president Amit Shah in Delhi and later he met prime minister Narendra Modi. This sparked the speculation that he would be inducted in the Union cabinet in the proposed expansion that may take place on either Sunday or Monday.

However, Parrikar said he would comment on reports of his induction in the Union Cabinet only after an "official announcement" is made.

"Let there be an official announcement. Until then I cannot say anything," Parrikar said.
