Parrikar may quit as Goa CM Tomorrow

New Delhi, Nov 07: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar broke his silence and confirmed that he will resign after the meeting of the BJP's parliamentary board, which is expected to elevate him to the Union Cabinet.

Media reports said that Speaker Rajendra Arlekar, health minister Laxmikant Parsenkar and deputy chief minister Francis D'Souza are the in the race of the state's top post.

While Arlekar has solid Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) credentials and also enjoys the confidence of Parrikar, Parsenkar has been a state chief of the BJP on two occasions. He is also believed to be close to Parrikar. The new CM would be sworn-in on Saturday afternoon.
